Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday asked the United Nations Security Council to remove Russia from the council, as he accused Russia of killing civilians.
Zelensky has accused Russia of committing atrocities in towns surrounding Kyiv, including Bucha, Irpin, and Hostomel and warned that more atrocities than Bucha are expected to be discovered in Borodyanka, a city near Kyiv.
Zelensky has earlier said more than 300 civilians had been killed in Bucha.
WSJ reported that Zelensky said civilians were “crushed by tanks in civilian cars in the middle of the road—for fun” as well as “raped and killed in front of their own children.”

Moscow, which is a permanent member of the Security Council, has a veto power due to which the council has been unable to take action against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
"We are dealing with a state that turns its veto at the U.N. Security Council into the right to (cause) death," Zelensky said in a live video address from Ukraine's capital Kyiv, urging reform of the world body, reported Reuters.
"Russia wants to turn Ukraine into silent slaves."
With rising atrocities of Russia in Ukraine, The US, European Union, and the Group of Seven (G7) are reportedly coordinating on a new round of sanctions on Moscow.
