Germany plans to cease importing Russian oil by the end of the year, even if the EU fails to agree on a ban in its next round of penalties, Bloomberg reported.
“Efforts to seal deals with alternative suppliers are progressing in the chancellery in Berlin and the government is confident it can solve remaining logistical problems within the next six to seven months, according to the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity,” Bloomberg quoted.

"We will phase out Russian supply of crude oil within six months and refined products by the end of the year," Ursula von der Leyen told the European Parliament.
