The Switzerland embassy in Kyiv reopens after two and a half months, it was temporarily shut due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
This decision was made after a thorough examination of the security situation in Kyiv. Over the following several days, only five FDFA employees will return to Kyiv.
“In the coming weeks, the embassy's team will also attend to key matters such as the coordination of reconstruction and development projects and humanitarian aid, good offices, and the media coverage of the situation in Ukraine,” the statement said.
The Swiss embassy in Kyiv was briefly shuttered on February 28 due to security concerns. Since then, the services of the representation have been provided from Bern, Chişinău (diplomatic), and Bucharest (consular).
The news comes a day after the United States reopened its embassy in Ukraine’s capital after three months.
