Ukraine’s leader appeals to world leaders to help Ukraine rebuild itself after war
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urges maximum sanctions on Russia during a virtual speech at the World Economic Forum.
In a virtual address on Monday, Zelenskyy demanded a total withdrawal of firms from Russia and called for complete Russian energy embargo and the exclusion of all Russian institutions from the financial system.
“There shouldn’t be any trade with Russia,” Ukraine’s leader said.
He further appealed to the world's political and commercial leaders to help restore Ukraine after the war is over.
“The amount of work is enormous, we have half a trillion dollars’ worth of losses ... we need to rebuild entire cities and industries,” Zelenskyy said in Davos.
Ukraine’s President hopes that nations will step up with rehabilitation offers at the Ukraine Reform Conference in Switzerland, on July 4-5.
