France President Emmanuel Macron has condemned the war crimes perpetrated in Ukraine and promised to hold those responsible accountable.
“The whole world has witnessed the war crimes committed on Ukraine's soil,” Macron said in a tweet.
“We will remain mobilized to ensure the perpetrators of those crimes are held accountable and punished in line with international law,” France's leader tweeted. “Our experts are on the front line to gather the evidence.”
Macron's remarks after visiting Kyiv on Thursday with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis.
Earlier, Macron has said Ukraine's leader will have to undertake negotiations with Russia “at some point to end the war.”
