In the wake of the overturn judgment of the Roe vs Wade verdict, Disney announced that its employees would have a travel benefit that includes “affordable coverage for receiving similar levels of care in another location” if they are not able to get the care they need where they live.
According to Variety, Disney told its employees on Friday said “they recognize the ‘impact’ of the Supreme Court’s decision and ‘remain committed to providing comprehensive access to quality and affordable care for all Disney employees and their families, which includes family planning and reproductive care, ‘no matter where they live.’
Disney employs about 80,000 people at Walt Disney World resort in Florida, where Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill prohibiting abortions after 15 weeks of gestation.
The Florida law, scheduled to take effect on July 1, is patterned after Mississippi's 15-week ban that was at the center of the Supreme Court ruling.
