• Delivery of the 292 new aircrafts will begin in 2023
China ordered almost 300 jets from Airbus SE for three of its major airlines as travel demand soars after two years into the pandemic.
China, which purchases planes on the behalf of the country’s airlines, ditched Boeing Co (NYSE: BA) and ordered jets from its rival.
The three Chinese airlines that ordered jets from Airbus included China Southern Airlines Co. (NYSE: ZNH), Air China Ltd. and China Eastern Airlines Corp. (NYSE: CEA).
Delivery of the 292 new aircrafts will begin in 2023. The entire deal is valued at $37 billion before customary discounts given to airlines.
