• The company said the staff walkout would lead it to cancel roughly 50% of its flights daily
Scandinavian airline SAS AB on Tuesday filed for bankruptcy protection in the US after about 1,000 of its pilots to go on strike.
The company said the staff walkout would lead it to cancel roughly 50% of its flights daily.
“SAS will continue to serve its customers as normal, although the strike by SAS Scandinavia pilots’ unions will impact the flight schedule,” the company said.
SAS, which has been in working on a restructuring plan for months, is among the other airlines that are hit by the lockdowns in the pandemic.
Bankruptcy announcement would help the company to accelerate the restructuring transformation, said SAS.
