Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ: META) released its first annual human rights report on Thursday, after being accused for years for overlooking online abuses on its platforms.
“The report includes insights and actions from our human rights due diligence on products, countries and responses to emerging crises,” the company said.
Meta said that the report discusses the company’s work protecting the privacy of journalists and human rights defenders, increasing youth safety on Instagram, fighting exploitation across its apps and protecting free and fair elections around the world.
The report covers due diligence performed in 2020 and 2021, according to the summary of the report.
