Ukraine recaptured 53 localities in Kherson region: Governor

Ukraine has retaken 53 localities in the predominantly Russian-occupied southern province of Kherson, said the regional governor, Reuters reported.
Earlier the UK ministry of defense said Ukraine’s counter-offensive in Kherson is gathering momentum.
“Ukraine has used its new long-range artillery to damage at least three of the bridges across the Dnipro River which Russia relies upon to supply the areas under its control,” the ministry said.
“As of now, 53 settlements have been confirmed as liberated,” acting governor Dmytro Butriy said on national television.
The 1000-meter-long Antonivsky bridge in Kherson city was destroyed last week by Ukrainian forces.
Zelenskyy also said that his soldiers are advancing in areas of the nation held by Russian forces, notably in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia in the south.
