Elon Musk's legal team is demanding Twitter Inc (NYSE: TWTR) to disclose the names of employees responsible for calculating the percentage of bot and spam accounts on the social media platform, Reuters reported on Thursday, citing a source familiar with the matter.Bot and spam accounts on Twitter have become the major issue in the legal fight over whether Musk must complete his $44 billion acquisition of the social media company.
Musk, who is Tesla Inc's (NASDAQ: TSLA) chief executive, last month terminated the takeover deal, citing that Twitter has withheld information about these accounts.
Twitter sued the billionaire to complete the deal and has said the issue has no bearing on the agreement with Musk.
Delaware Court of Chancery ruled for an expedited five-day trial for the hearing of the legal battle, which will begin on October 17.
