Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL) is aiming to hold a launch event on September 7 to unveil the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
The
Cupertino giant is planning to launch a new iPhone lineup, multiple new
Macs, low-end and high-end iPads, and three Apple Watch models on that
date, the report said.
Apple is updating iPhones, which generate more than half its sales, at a difficult time for the industry.
Although
smartphone sales have begun to show warnings as consumers cope with
inflation and recession fears, Apple appears to be faring better than
its peers.
The
company usually releases the new iPhone in stores about a week and a
half after it’s unveiled, and Apple is expected to stick to that pattern
this year. The report said some retail store employees have been told
to prepare for a major new product release on September 16.
Apple gained almost 2% to $176.15 in New York trading on Wednesday.
