The world’s largest issuer of stablecoins earlier used accounting firm MHA Cayman to sign off on its attestation reports. BDO Italia started attestations of Tether in July.
Stablecoins are a type of cryptocurrency that are pegged to government-backed currencies such as dollar.
Tether has faced heat from the regulators regarding the backing of its coins. In 2021, Tether and other entities reached a settlement after being accused of making several public misrepresentations regarding the dollar reserves backing tether.
