Universal City, Calif., September 29, 2022 — On Wednesday, October 12, at 11:00 a.m., cinema icon Jamie Lee Curtis will have her hands and feet immortalized in cement at an official ceremony at the legendary TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX® on Hollywood Blvd. to celebrate the release of Halloween Ends. The ceremony will be attended by Curtis' close friend, Oscar® nominee Melanie Griffith, and a special guest.
In Halloween Ends (in theaters and streaming only on Peacock October 14), Curtis returns for the last time as Laurie Strode, horror's first "final girl." The role launched Curtis' career and reshaped and defined the horror genre forever. After 44 years as Laurie Strode, Curtis is a member of the elite pantheon of artists who have played the same role on film for more than four decades, including Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. Curtis was just 20 years old when the first Halloween was released in 1978. The character of Laurie, conceived and written by John Carpenter and Debra Hill, has become the defining role of Curtis' expansive and lauded career.
When the franchise relaunched in 2018, Halloween shattered box-office records, becoming the franchise's highest-grossing chapter and setting a new record for the biggest opening weekend for a horror film starring a woman. In 2021, Halloween Kills earned the biggest opening weekend for any horror film in the pandemic era and simultaneously set a new record for a non-live event premiere streaming on Peacock.
The TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX® handprints-footprints tribute is the most selective of all Hollywood honors. Over the course of 95 years only 250-plus such honors have been presented. Movie exhibitor Sid Grauman opened The Chinese in 1927 and launched the handprints-footprints ceremony a year later as a promotion to advertise his many premieres and first-run films. Among the first handprints and footprints were those of Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks.
On October 12, Curtis will join a prestigious lists of Hollywood icons who have imprinted their hands and feet at The TCL Chinese IMAX®, and she will become part of an unparalleled history of legendary women who defined their own eras and all of cinema. Previous honorees include Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow, Judy Garland, Barbara Stanwyck, Betty Grable, Bette Davis, Susan Hayward, Ava Gardner, Elizabeth Taylor, Rosalind Russell, Doris Day and Sophia Loren.
Jamie Lee Curtis has demonstrated her versatility as a film actress throughout her career, starring in acclaimed films such as the blockbuster True Lies, for which she won a Golden Globe Award; Trading Places, for which she earned a British Film Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress; A Fish Called Wanda, for which she received duel Best Actress nominations from BAFTA and the Golden Globes; and the Disney feature film Freaky Friday, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. In addition to the Halloween films, her recent smash hits include 2019's Knives Out and this year's cultural sensation Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Curtis is also a New York Times best-selling children's book author and an AIDS activist and has a deep and active connection to many children's charities. In 2020 she launched the website www.myhandinyours.com, which offers items of comfort where 100 percent of proceeds from sales benefits Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

This is Laurie Strode's last stand.
After 44 years, the most acclaimed, revered horror franchise in film history reaches its epic, terrifying conclusion as Laurie Strode faces off for the last time against the embodiment of evil, Michael Myers, in a final confrontation unlike any captured on-screen before. Only one of them will survive.
In this unexpected final chapter, set four years after the events of last year's Halloween Kills, Laurie is living with her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) and is finishing writing her memoir. Michael Myers hasn't been seen since. Laurie, after allowing the specter of Michael to determine and drive her reality for decades, has decided to liberate herself from fear and rage and embrace life. But when a young man, Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell; The Hardy Boys, Virgin River), is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting, it ignites a cascade of violence and terror that will force Laurie to finally confront the evil she can't control, once and for all.
Halloween Ends co-stars returning cast members Will Patton as Officer Frank Hawkins, Kyle Ricards as Lindsey Wallace and James Jude Courtney as Michael Myers (aka The Shape). The supporting cast includes Omar J. Dorsey, returning as Sheriff Barker, and new characters played by Jesse C. Boyd (The Walking Dead, Outer Banks), Joanne Baron (Billions, Euphoria) and Michael Barbieri (Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Dark Tower).
