NEW YORK (AP) _ BGC Partners Inc. (BGCP) on Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $5.8 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The company, based in New York, said it had earnings of 1 cent per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 16 cents per share.
The brokerage company posted revenue of $416.6 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $416.6 million, surpassing Street forecasts.
The company's shares closed at $3.92. A year ago, they were trading at $5.62.
