LEXINGTON, Mass. (AP) _ Agenus Inc. (AGEN) on Tuesday reported a third-quarter loss of $56.7 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Lexington, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 19 cents.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 18 cents per share.
The biotechnology company posted revenue of $22.8 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $19.9 million.
The company's shares closed at $2.39. A year ago, they were trading at $4.16.
