On a per-share basis, the Boston-based company said it had a loss of 13 cents. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, came to 2 cents per share.
The internet video streaming service company posted revenue of $49.2 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported a loss of $9 million, or 22 cents per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $211 million.
For the current quarter ending in March, Brightcove expects its results to range from a loss of 8 cents per share to a loss of 5 cents per share.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $49 million to $50 million for the fiscal first quarter.
Brightcove expects full-year earnings in the range of 4 cents to 11 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $211 million to $215 million.
Brightcove shares have risen 20% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $6.28, a fall of 9% in the last 12 months.
