15% of staff on the company rolls to be affected by the decision
Employment website Indeed is laying off 2,200 employees from "every team, function, level, and region."
The company CEO said in a message to the staff of the company of about 14,600 employees that the restructuring will affect about 15% of staff.
Chris Hyams said the focus was on preparing the organization for the future, "aligning with our strategy and priorities, and reducing duplication of effort and inefficiency."
The head of the company based in Austin, Texas said all impacted employees outside of the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Japan will receive an email informing them of their status within hours. For them, the layoff will be effective March 31.
The staff in the listed countries would receive information in a few days because of regulatory requirements, it was said.
Claiming that it was a decision that he "truly hoped that I would never have to make," Chris Hyams said: "Leading a company whose mission is to help people get jobs, every single day I think about how important a job is in a person's life. Losing a job is extraordinarily hard, financially and emotionally."
