Software giant Microsoft (MSFT) has completed the long-pending $69-billion purchase of Call of Duty game maker Activision Blizzard.
The deal that went through after Britain's competition watchdog granted the final approval Friday is expected to rock the gaming and technology industry, according to a report from the Associated Press.
The latest acquisition of Activision Blizzard, the maker of such blockbuster games like Call of Duty, Diablo and Overwatch, makes Microsoft, the owner of XBox, a formidable force in the gaming landscape.
The deal has been in the making for nearly 22 months reflecting the concerns of the industry rivals.
