A huge solar panel facility that a South Korean company has commissioned in Georgia is facing serious price competition from Asian counterparts, industry leaders say.
The management of Qcells, the facility built by Hanwha Group, said Wednesday that it can now produce enough solar panels to generate 5.1 gigawatts of power annually at the complex in the city of Dalton. The two-factory complex accounts for 40 percent of U.S. solar panel production capacity, a report of the Associated Press said.
The AP report adds:
Qcells' opened its first factory in 2019 and an even larger plant in phases since, what the company describes as the largest solar investment in American history.
