NORTHBROOK, Ill. (AP) — NORTHBROOK, Ill. (AP) — Stepan Co. (SCL) on Tuesday reported a loss of $1.2 million in its fourth quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Northbrook, Illinois-based company said it had a loss of 5 cents. Earnings, adjusted for restructuring costs and non-recurring costs, came to 33 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 37 cents per share.
The specialty chemicals company posted revenue of $532.1 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $534.5 million.
