Ryals McMullian is president and chief executive officer of Flowers Foods, Inc.(FLO)

As CEO, Ryals continues to drive efforts to increase shareholder value by focusing on brand growth, managing costs, expanding into

product adjacencies through smart mergers and acquisitions, and developing talent and leading capabilities.

Efforts led by him to standardize and centralize corporate processes including organizational realignment, indirect spend, and supplychain optimization have achieved more than $180 million in gross savings since 2016.

Prior to being elected president and CEO in 2019, he served as chief operating officer and chief strategy officer. Before that, Ryals held several key leadership positions during his career at Flowers, including serving from 2015 to 2017 as vice president of mergers and acquisitions and deputy general counsel, and from 2011 to 2015 as vice president and associate general counsel. He joined the company in 2003 as associate general counsel. He holds a master’s degree in business administration, a juris doctorate, and a bachelor’s degree in finance and real estate from Florida State University.
