• The Ukrainian leader thanked Biden for terming Russia’s actions as genocide
Addressing President Joe Biden in his daily late-night address to Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the former for providing $800 million as military aid for the war-ravaged nation.
He also thanked the US President for using the word "genocide" to qualify the actions of the Russian troops in Ukraine.
"True words of a true leader @POTUS. Calling things by their names is essential to stand up to evil. We are grateful for US assistance provided so far and we urgently need more heavy weapons to prevent further Russian atrocities," he tweeted.

Biden had implied that what Vladimir Putin is doing on Ukrainian territory is genocide. At an event in Iowa, the US President used this word for the first time in public. Until Tuesday, his speeches had been handled very carefully.
With the latest package, the total military aid provided by the US to Ukraine, since Russian forces invaded in February, comes down to more than $2.5 billion.
The US has provided a total of $3.2 billion to Ukraine since the beginning of Biden’s presidency, according to the White House.
