Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russian forces have the numerical edge in the battle for Severodonetsk, but Kyiv's troops have "a chance" of fighting back and retaking the city from Moscow.
Ukraine's president told reporters at a press conference in Kyiv that if Russia breaks through in its eastern area of Donbas, the situation would become very tough for his country, Al Jazeera reported.
“Ukraine is holding the situation in the Severodonetsk direction. There’s more of them, they are more powerful but we have a chance to hold the advance,” Zelenskyy said.
Meanwhile, The UK Ministry of Defense said in its intelligence report that heavy fighting continues near the disputed town of Severodonetsk in eastern Ukraine.
Furthermore, Russian soldiers continue to march into Sloviansk as part of their attempt to encircle Ukrainian forces, the ministry said.
