The British defense in its intelligence report said Russia continues to launch attacks from three directions on the Severodonetsk pocket, despite Ukrainian defenses holding but “neither side is likely to have made much progress.”
The intelligence report said that while Russia is concentrating its offensive in the central Donbas sector, it has remained on the defensive on its flanks.
“Ukrainian forces have recently achieved some success by counter-attacking in the south-western Kherson region, including regaining a foothold on the eastern bank of the Ingulets River,” the MoD said in a tweet.
Furthermore, with the occupied zone's frontage reaching more than 500 kilometers, Russia and Ukraine confront similar issues in maintaining a defensive line while freeing up effective combat forces for offensive operations.
