Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has said that the country's soldiers are retaining control of cities in the Donbas area even though the Russian attack intensifies.
“The frontline situation today is without significant changes. Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, and other cities in Donbas, which the occupiers now consider key targets, are holding on,” Zelenskyy said in his nightly address.
“We have a certain positive in the Zaporizhzhia region, where we manage to thwart the plans of the occupiers. We are gradually moving forward in the Kharkiv region, liberating our land. We are keeping defense in the Mykolaiv direction,” he said.
Earlier, Ukraine's President said fighting for control of the city of Severodonetsk, may determine the fate of the country's war with Russian forces in the Donbas.
