The UK Ministry of defense in its intelligence report said that there is a realistic possibility the missile strike on the Kremenchuk shopping center on 27 June 2022 was intended to hit a nearby infrastructure target.
“Russia’s inaccuracy in conducting long-range strikes has previously resulted in mass civilian casualty incidents, including at Kramatorsk railway station on 9 April 2022,” the ministry said.
Russian strategists are almost certainly ready to accept a significant amount of collateral damage when it comes to military necessity, the report said.
“It is almost certain that Russia will continue to conduct strikes to interdict the resupplying of Ukrainian frontline forces,” the MoD said in a tweet.
Russian military continues to make incremental advances toward encircling the town of Lysychansk. Russian soldiers have pushed 2 kilometers south of the town, near the Lysychansk oil refinery.
