Russian-backed separatists disabled Google in eastern Ukraine
- DPR leader said the search engine is encouraging disinformation
Russian-backed rebels in an eastern Ukraine breakaway area have restricted access to the search engine Google.
Denis Pushilin, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) leader in a telegram post accused Google of encouraging disinformation.
“At the forefront of information technology in this regard is the Google search engine, which openly…promotes violence against all Russians, and especially the population of Donbas,” he said in the post.
“If Google stops pursuing its criminal policy and returns to the mainstream of law, morality, and common sense, there will be no obstacles to its work,” he said.
Separately, Ukrainian President said Kyiv can inflict significant losses on Russia while also making advances on the battlefield.
“With all its terrorist attacks against Ukrainians and our country, Russia is only burying itself,” Zelenskyy said.
