More than 180 religious structures and landmarks in 14 regions of Ukraine have been damaged during Russia's assault, said the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Affairs and Freedom of Conscience.
More than 120 of the damaged or destroyed structures belonged to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
“Mosques, synagogues, and educational and administrative buildings of religious communities in Ukraine were also destroyed,” according to the statement.
The majority of the destroyed cultural sites are in the Donetsk area (45), where combat is still fierce, the Luhansk region has 40 damaged sites, the Kharkiv region has 25 damaged sites, and the Kyiv region has 34 damaged sites.
