Russia is launching ‘gas war’ against Europe, says Zelenskyy
- Kremlin spokesperson Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline returns from maintenance in Canada
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Putin is waging a "gas war" against Europe.
“Even despite the concession regarding the Nord Stream turbine, Russia is not going to resume gas supplies to European countries, as it is contractually obligated to do,” Zelenskyy said in his nightly video address.
“All this is done by Russia deliberately to make it as difficult as possible for Europeans to prepare for winter.”
“They don't care what will happen to the people, how they will suffer - from hunger due to the blocking of ports or from winter cold and poverty... Or occupation,” said Ukrainian head adding that “these are just different forms of terror.”
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Monday said that the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline returns from maintenance in Canada and gas supplies will reach technologically possible limits after the repaired turbine is deployed.
