More than 5.8 million refugees have fled Ukraine: UN

United Nations in its latest report said more than 5.8 million people have fled over Ukraine's borders to other parts of Europe since Russia's invasion in February.


Around 3. 654 million refugees from Ukraine are registered for temporary protection or similar national protection schemes in Europe.


“The escalation of conflict in Ukraine has caused civilian casualties and destruction of civilian infrastructure, forcing people to flee their homes seeking safety, protection, and assistance,” UN researchers said in a report.


“Millions of refugees from Ukraine have crossed borders into neighboring countries and many more have been forced to move inside the country,” the report said.


Further, more than 9.152 million people have crossed the border from Ukraine since Russia's invasion in late February.
