Ukraine may lose sovereignty and disappear from the world map, says Russian official
- Russian officials claim that the country is not to blame for the countless war crimes committed in Ukraine
Ukraine might vanish off the map "as a result of emerging events," Russia's Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said on his Telegram channel on Thursday.
“The fact that after the 2014 coup, Ukraine lost its state independence and came under the direct control of the collective West, and also believed that NATO would ensure its security,” Medvedev said in the post.
“That as a result of all that is happening, Ukraine may lose the remnants of state sovereignty and disappear from the world map,” he wrote. “Ukrainian criminals will be tried for the atrocities committed against the people of Ukraine and Russia.”
Russian officials claim that Moscow is not to blame for the countless war crimes committed in Ukraine.
The country which started a Special military operation on Feb 24 also said that it does not target people, despite several instances of missile attacks on civilian facilities like schools, businesses, and hospitals.
