The Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline returns from maintenance in Canada and gas supplies will reach technologically possible limits after the repaired turbine is deployed, said Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Monday.
“Of course, the turbine will be installed. We know that there are still issues with other units, which Siemens is also aware of. But, of course, the turbine will be installed after all formalities are completed,” Peskov told Tass news agency. “And deliveries will continue to the extent that is technologically possible.”
He went on to say that there was additional Nord Stream 1 equipment that needed to be repaired due to which the gas pipeline has been running at only 40% of its maximum capacity since mid-June
Peskov further said that Moscow is not interested in halting the Russian gas supply to Europe.
